Rachel qualified from Coventry University in 2006 with a 1st Class Honors inPhysiotherapy (BSc Hons). Having enjoyed her undergraduate training sheembarked on her Masters in Physiotherapy straight away with the aim of broadening her theoretical and practical skills yet further.

Whilst studying for her MSc Rachel worked as a Junior Rotational Physiotherapist atthe George Eliot Hospital (GEH) Nuneaton. It was during this time she discovered her interest in Musculoskelatal outpatients and by 2007 had already completed her 80 Hour Foundation Acupuncture training with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapist (AACP). This also impacted on her MSc module choices and led her to complete both Upper and Lower Quadrant ManualTherapy modules. Within 14 months Rachel was promoted to a static Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist within the Outpatient department at the GEH.

With her interest growing in the field of Musculoskeletal Rachel highlighted a need to develop her prescriptive exercise knowledge and hence began her Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). She  completed her Matwork Certification in 2008 and has gone onto complete further course in the use of small and large Pilates equipment and Ante/Post Natal Pilates.

Rachel completed her MSc in Physiotherapy with Merit in 2011 and has also completed furtherAcupuncture training in Musculosketal Myofacial Trigger Point Therapy.

Rachel used her Physiotherapy and Pilates knowledge to open North Warwickshire's FirstPhysio led Pilates Studio; ReCoop Health in Oct 2010. Her vision is to work inclose partnership with the local community to deliver services which reflect the populations need.

Alongside this she is also now a Presenter for the APPI and teaches other health care professionals throughout the UK about Pilates, its beneficial effects onnumerous populations for a wide variety of conditions.

 

Amanda Martin MICHT (CRB checked)

Amanda qualified from North Warwickshirecollege in 2004 with a 2 year Diploma in Holistic Therapy, which included Reflexology, Advanced Reflexology, Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy, Advancedmassage techniques, Hot stone massage, Workplace massage, Bach flower remedies,Level 3 Diploma in Indian head massage, Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, Reiki Level 1 and 2 and Thermal auricular therapy (Ear Candling).

In 2009 Amanda completed a Certificate in Seated Acupressure with The British School Of Shiatsu-Do and a Certificate inInfant Massage Instruction with the FHT.

 

Having an interest in pressure points led Amanda to study shiatsu in 2008. She graduated with a 3 year Diploma from

The British School ofShiatsu-Do in London in 2011. Amanda's studies included; Shiatsu,Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zen theory and Anatomy and Physiology. Other related bodywork modules were fertility, pregnancy and childbirth, sports injuries and structural corrections.

In line with her professional bodies requirements she activity participates in continued professional development CPD yearly; which in the past has included Homeopathy workshop, Colour therapy, Aromatherapy in pregnancy and childbirth, Shiatsu neck and shoulders and Basic positional release Techniques.

Amanda has worked on various successful community projects within Nuneaton for the past 5 years (Guidepost Carers, Healthy Living Network and Warwickshire for the Blind). As well as succesfully delivering workplace taster sessions for the private and the corporate sector (Coventry, Nuneaton and Wolverhampton Council, Domestic and General and Catapillar logitics, etc).
